Matiu is a contemporary Māori artist, living in Naarm and creating under the pseudonym Ceramic Rebellion. 

Ceramic Rebellion is an art practice that blends cultural and lived experience and reimagines the boundaries of ceramic tradition. Rooted in clay craft yet unbound by convention, the works are a fusion point of the multiple influences Matiu grapples with as they create.
